Be Well Virginia: COVID-19 Vaccine Part 2

NVFP is offering a special event “BE WELL Virginia” Virtual Town Hall on Thursday, January 7th, 2021. Much hope rests on this vaccine being one of the keys to ending the pandemic, and the providers at NVFP plan to field your inquiries about its development, its distribution, its safety, and the science behind its effectiveness. We will be welcoming the microbiology expertise of Dr. Mike Havert, a virologist familiar with the basic science that developed the vaccine.

2:25: Northern Virginia Family Practice will be notifying their patients when they are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by email, an automated phone message and it also will be posted on the website.

11:35 Dr. Beauvais discusses allergies and anaphylaxis as it pertains to the COVID-19 vaccine. She states that an allergy to an injection medicine before or prior history of anaphylaxis could be reasons not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

13:33: Dr. Ken Zweig expresses that it is important to not be judgmental when speaking with those who are skeptical about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Zweig encourages you to share why you are getting the COVID-19 vaccine and why it’s important to you that others get the vaccine as well.

20:03: When asked about the COVID-19 vaccine side effects on future fertility, Dr. Beauvais  stated that we don’t yet know, but that it’s unlikely the COVID-19 vaccine will cause any issues.

30:20: All of the doctors at Northern Virginia Family Practice have received the COVID-19 vaccine and encourage the public to get the COVID-19 vaccine when they have the opportunity.
