Judit Gordon-Cappitelli, MD

Clinical Expertise:

Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli is a board-certified Internist and has subspecialty training in Nephrology and Hypertension. Prior to joining NVFP, Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli completed her medical training and residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and completed her subspecialty training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She has spent most of her post-graduate time as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC. There she took care of patients in the office and in the hospital, and spent time teaching students, residents, and fellows.

She has extensive experience in taking care of patients with complex medical issues, including difficult-to-treat hypertension, and a wide spectrum of kidney diseases. Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli helps patients achieve their health goals while integrating the care of their physical, mental, and emotional needs. As a primary care provider, she is also the patients’ advocate and wants to be able to communicate with patients’ subspecialty providers.

When I’m Not Working:

Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli lives in Arlington, VA with her husband and four daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and cheering on her daughters at their multiple sporting events. She is a former college athlete and tries to stay in shape and keep up with her kids. She loves to cook healthy meals and treats and tries to maintain a small vegetable garden. She also loves the beach and pool time.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in biology-vertebrate physiology from Pennsylvania State University

  • Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine

  • Internal Medicine Residency at Temple University Hospital

  • Nephrology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and Hypertension
