Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli is a double board-certified Internist who finds it essential to take her time to get to know patients, offering her absolute full attention to each patient at each visit. She is passionate about preventive medicine and helping patients to learn or maintain healthy habits.
Clinical Expertise:
Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli is a board-certified Internist and has subspecialty training in Nephrology and Hypertension. Prior to joining NVFP, Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli completed her medical training and residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and completed her subspecialty training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She has spent most of her post-graduate time as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC. There she took care of patients in the office and in the hospital, and spent time teaching students, residents, and fellows.
Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli helps patients achieve their health goals while integrating the care of their physical, mental, and emotional needs. As a primary care provider, she is also the patients’ advocate and wants to be able to communicate with patients’ subspecialty providers.
When I’m Not Working:
Dr. Gordon-Cappitelli lives in Arlington, VA with her husband and four daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and cheering on her daughters at their multiple sporting events. She is a former college athlete and tries to stay in shape and keep up with her kids. She loves to cook healthy meals and treats and tries to maintain a small vegetable garden. She also loves the beach and pool time.
